Above The Fray
The world is becoming curiouser and curiouser, and I’ve been exploring the most expansive ways to stay above the fray. That’s what I call being in observer mode, holding the larger vision for myself and for humanity. If I feel my solar plexus beginning to spin, I know I’m getting stuck in the mire.
Reading or listening to the news can be one the most challenging arenas. I only look at news on my iPhone, never on my computers or TV. I try to convince myself that watching on such a tiny screen won’t affect me that much. Ha. There was a time in the late 1980’s, when I was living in Chapel Hill, that I sold my TV, and stopped reading or listening to any news for years. It was an enlightening experience.
As far as politics is concerned, I stayed virtually uninvolved beyond the 1960’s and 70’s. It wasn’t until the 2016 presidential election that I got sucked back in. At that time, I wrote about how all thoughts are energy and vibration, and how we create what we focus upon, whether we like it or not, and how folks spew “hatred and anger and name calling at one candidate or another, thinking that if they push back hard enough, it will somehow help the candidate of their choice. In actuality,” I wrote, “they’re doing just the opposite. They are ‘matching’ the energy of exactly what they don’t want, and thereby stoking the vibration of the candidate they are railing against.” (See Quantum Physics and the Political Arena) I also wrote back then that my happiness was not dependent upon who was in the White House.
Now, however, although the rules of vibration and energy remain the same, everything else is a lot more complicated. We’re in dangerous terrain, and for me, staying above the fray is required in many arenas. Politics is one. Technology is another.
Technology is my friend. I’m a website designer, and although I’ve retired from taking new clients, I still manage over thirty websites. Clients need content changes and redesigns on the front end, but they never see the backend of their sites. That’s my territory. I take care of the backups, security, plugin and theme updates, and such, and any technical issues that arise. Most of the time all goes well, but more often these days, I am launched into techno-hell, that place where something goes wrong but you don’t know what and you contact support and support doesn’t know what and you try things and support tries things and you go back and forth by phone and email and maybe by 2 am you get a message saying that the issue was finally sorted out and resolved… or that they have no idea what’s causing the problem and there’s no fix. The Unknown is a big part of these times.
I’ve had an unusually large amount of techno challenges the last couple weeks. Hours of days dealing with my internet and cell phone companies. Can you imagine being on the phone with a young agent who’s been trying for 45 minutes to enter the newly negotiated deal into your account, only to tell you she’s “not that good with computers” and you can’t believe she said that, and you finally tell her you’re hanging up and will call back later to speak to someone who knows what they’re doing? Just for the record, the second agent wasn’t much better. Older, but not much wiser. Plus, the “deal” the previous techno-challenged agent offered did not exist.
I then had a bizarre issue with one of my own websites. And when I needed to contact support for the website theme/platform I use, I found that their website server had been down that day for almost 4 hours and still counting. It wound up being down for 20 hours. A thing almost unheard of. Uncertainty and Anomaly. Two more words for the times.

And then, a couple of days ago, in the middle of working on an important computer project the electricity goes off, and stays off for 4 hours.
I did better with some of these things than with others. One thing I’ve been feeling very strongly lately, is how important it is for me to stay above the fray, to learn to live with uncertainty, with the I don’t know, to create my life from the larger perspective. From that vantage point, I could have handled at least the human interaction part of the last weeks with a little more mindfulness.
On MSNBC, Nicolle Wallace (I think) began to refer to Earth 1 and Earth 2, Earth 1 being the 3D world of “normal” facts — a world I believe is long gone, never to return, and Earth 2 being the world of “alternate facts.” But there’s an Earth 3 being created by a huge number of awakened souls, some call it New Earth, a higher vibrational world of compassion, connection, big L Love, and Truth at the highest level of our Being, a world that contains the 5D possibility of all things, a world that, in my best moments, I’ve been part of creating since I began, decades ago, asking the big questions: Who am I? Why am I here?
Within the last couple of months I’ve been feeling yet another shift happening within. In a way, I’ve felt like a before butterfly, kind of stuck in the mushy chrysalis, not knowing what I might become. Now, I think I can finally feel wings beginning to emerge. Even though some new weird physical symptoms have appeared, I’ve had days of feeling better overall. Even the periods of depression have lifted. I became busy with website work, visited with a few friends in person and by phone, laughed a lot more, hired a house cleaner, and started Visceral Manipulation/Repatterning and Craniosacral Therapy with amazing Dr. Molly.
Although I’ve had my practice of Wisdom Healing Qigong for over eight years now with Master Mingtong Gu, my first profound teacher still in a body, I often like to check in with the larger global community of gifted channelers who are bringing the much needed higher perspective of this unprecedented time in planetary history. I wanted guidance on how to integrate the intense energy now coming on to the planet, which can sometimes affect my body, and just how to stay above the fray.
And I also found that more than ever, I wanted to receive clear guidance from my own Spirit Team — Higher Self, Soul, Guides, Angels. I’m pretty intuitive and I’m actually learning to trust in that, but now I feel ready to open a clearer channel to my Team. A day after I put the word out to the great beneficent Universe, I got an email newsletter from Lee Harris, who channels his wonderful guides the Z’s, announcing a new video course: How To Channel & Why. I immediately signed up. It begins next week.
Over the decades, my most profound guides and teachers have been non-physical beings who were channeled by friends who were like soul-sisters. They were who I turned to when I experienced things that couldn’t be easily explained in the 3D world. I can still hear the voice of my beloved guide Zacharia talking to me. At the time, I don’t think I really understood the deeper meaning of his words.
He taught me how to meditate, and how to create from the emptiness that can only be filled by the Self. He taught me that imagination was real. He told me, Got a fear, make an appointment. He told me, Forget appearances.
He liked to tell the story about a Seeker, a young man who traveled the earth looking for the greatest Guru to answer his greatest question — what is the meaning of life? He trekked from one place to another, asking everyone he met where he could find the Guru who will know the answer. Finally, he is told that the one he seeks lives in a cave high atop a certain mountain. He walks for miles, for days, he climbs and climbs. Exhausted, he finally finds the Guru he’s looking for sitting cross-legged upon the earth.
— Sensing the Seeker’s arrival, the Guru greets him. How can I help you my son? he says.
— I have traveled far to find you, Master, the Seeker says. I am searching for the answer to my question, what is the meaning of life?
— The Guru invites the young man to sit, looks lovingly into his eyes, and says, Agree with everything.
— The seeker is stunned. I can’t believe it, he says. That can’t be it, he says. That just can’t be the answer. It can’t be.
— The Guru pauses for a moment, then turns to the young man and soulfully replies, Perhaps you’re right.
A lesson in non-resistance, acceptance, embracing what is.

I don’t spend much time on YouTube, and I was a little amazed at how much information was available within the global spiritual community. Interviews with channelers and intuitives about what’s happening in these times and why, about our galactic history (some of which I’d been told before), how “There are more things in heaven and earth…than are dreamt of in your philosophy,” as Will Shakespeare wrote. And also about how much practical, wise, and loving advice and help is available from the larger perspective. Because it’s YouTube, however, most of these preview thumbnails appear in black background with bold yellow and white text sometimes spouting woo-woo wording that would appeal to the Marjorie Taylor Green crowd. If you should dare to venture over, don’t be deceived. There’s integrity to be found behind the outlandish facade.
As I explored, I discovered people who have had some of the most fascinating, often fantastical journeys on the way to opening their channeling gifts and bringing forth profound and loving information for these times. Some I deeply resonated with. Some I did not. Like I once told one of my wonderful early-on spirit guides, “Just because you’re dead doesn’t mean your smart.” She liked that saying so much she told me she was going to steal it and use it in her group gatherings, which she called “The Atlantean Colloquium.” She too, was an amazing non-physical teacher who’s areas of expertise were 18th, 19th, and 20th century art, and human sexuality.
I got hooked for a few days into listening to several interviews on YouTube, but then eased back into a more balanced routine. The most powerful reminder I came away with, and that I practice every day is this: The quickest way to raise your vibration is simply to think about something that you love. So that’s what I do. I look at the beautiful desktop image I put up in memory of my beloved kitty, Michou, and it deeply warms my heart. I open the back door and give all my attention to the singing birds. I watch the sunset from my balcony. Sometimes I take pictures. I practice at the piano, trying to remember the few pieces I, who can hardly play, once miraculously composed, and I’m again amazed. I eat chocolate, savoring every bite. I watch an uplifting movie, most recently, A Perfect Day. I start reading an uplifting audiobook, currently The Swans of Harlem. And I’m learning to shift my attention from obsessing over what’s “wrong,” with my body, my life, the world, to what’s right on this incredible journey of self-discovery that I’ve chosen..
What you give to the world—and to us, your readers—is the beauty of your elevated perspective whose energy takes on a life of its own as it moves through us—blessing, lifting, expanding. I come to each blog with anticipation and leave enriched. Thank you for sharing your light as we stumble through the darkness.
Thank you, dear Bobby. I greatly appreciate that you seem always to be able to find something meaningful for you in my meanderings.
So much wisdom here, and I’m so glad you shared it, Rachelle. I had a very powerful experience this month with the movie Perfect Days also… The vibration stayed with me in a wonderful way. As a person in this world, I appreciate what you are doing for the world, and the meaningfulness of your writing about it. The authenticity means a lot to me. Thank you!
Thank you, Sara. We’re on this authentic journey together! 🕊
